Wellbeing Therapies - Counselling

Counselling is just one of the ways you can look after your wellbeing, or support you through a challenging period in your life, and can have various benefits:

  • Talk to someone who will really listen and hear what you need to say.
  • Receive support and guidance to make the changes you want.
  • Explore your goals for feeling well.

Good to know

Counselling can help with many difficult experiences including anxiety, stress, depression, relationship issues, grief, trauma and anything else you feel is affecting your wellbeing.

How does it work?

Wellbeing Therapies Counselling is available to all adults in Scotland. Sessions cost £50 for a 1 hour appointment.

Using Wellbeing Therapies means you can:

  • Choose how your counselling takes place: on the phone or through a video call (face to face counselling is currently suspended due to COVID-19).
  • Support others while supporting yourself as the fee you pay goes directly to Health in Mind.
  • See your counsellor for the first time in under two weeks.

You can choose to:

  • Work with a counsellor over several weeks or months
  • Have fewer, shorter, more focused sessions

You can discuss the options with the counsellor at your first session.

How do I get an appointment?

Get in touch and we’ll answer any questions you might have.
If you’re happy to go ahead we’ll take some personal details so we can match you with the counsellor who best suits your needs.

What is counselling and what can it help with?

Counselling can help people take greater control of life and improve their confidence.

It’s a safe place for people to talk about their lives and can help with a range of mental health difficulties including stress, anxiety, depression, grief, anger and trauma.

Counselling can support people to manage difficult emotions or memories, and help to build trust and relationships with others. It can help them explore how the past has prevented them from living the life they want to lead and find ways to move forward.

Who are your counsellors?

All of our counsellors are fully qualified and carefully recruited.

They are registered with either the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland (COSCA) or United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) ethical framework.

Funded Counselling Sessions

We also offer funded counselling sessions and other mental health and wellbeing services. You can find out more about them here.

Wellbeing Therapies is a social enterprise so your contribution goes straight back into our mental health and wellbeing charity, Health in Mind.
