Online Course: Mental Health and Suicide Awareness

This is a half-day, online version of our popular Mental Health Awareness course.

About this course

In this course, we'll take a look at common mental health issues, as well as exploring the individuality of mental health. We'll discuss the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on mental health and how it has challenged us in supporting others.

Course objectives

  • Gain an understanding of how mental health affects us all
  • Gain an understanding of some common mental health conditions
  • Gain a critical understanding of stigma around mental health
  • Learn approaches to responding to people experiencing distress
  • Explore indicators of suicide risk and helpful responses
  • Explore community resources/signposting
  • Gain ideas to support own wellbeing and resilience
  • Gain an understanding of Diversity and Mental Health
