Online Course: Introduction to Meditation & Mindfulness for Everyday Self-Care (5 weeks)

From Wednesday 12 May, 9.00 am - 11.00 am, for 5 consecutive weeks (12, 19, 26 May, 2 and 9 June)

This is a comprehensive introductory course that combines education, discussion, and meditation practice, to support your wellbeing.

About this course 

Whether you’re a complete beginner, looking to restart your meditation practice, or you work in a support role and want to embed your skills in your work, this course will ground you in the fundamentals and expand your understanding of meditation and mindfulness.

It runs from Wednesday 12 May, 9.00 am - 11.00 am, for 5 consecutive weeks (12, 19, 26 May, 2 and 9 June). Please see below the key themes that will be covered each week.

  • Week One: Introduction to Meditation & Mindfulness
  • Week Two: Exploring the Benefits of Meditation
  • Week Three: Half-Way Reflection & Meditation Practice
  • Week Four: Prioritising your Self-Care
  • Week Five: Creating your Meditation & Mindfulness Plan

Course objectives

  • Consider how you can use mindfulness techniques and meditation as part of your daily self-care routine.
  • Learn about the history and the science of meditation and mindfulness.
  • Learn meditation techniques, such as body scanning and visualisations.
  • Harness your breath as a way to destress.
  • Learn how mindfulness and meditation can support self-care, self-love and self-acceptance through gratitude and loving kindness meditations.
  • Create and discuss ongoing meditation plans, to embed your practice on a regular basis.
  • Create time and space for you to reflect and relax.

About the trainers

Karran Bonner

Karran has practiced meditation for over 10 years and decided she wanted to share her love of meditation with others by becoming a Meditation Teacher and studied for her Diploma in Meditation Teaching in 2019 with the British School of Meditation. Karran brings a positive and relaxed approach to her sessions and is looking forward to meeting you soon.

Louise Anderson

Louise’s background was originally in social work and she draws on this experience in her work. Louise is passionate about making meditation accessible to all, and enjoys sharing ways that can help people cope with the stresses of everyday life. As well as being passionate about meditation Louise also offers Reiki, Crystal Reflexology, Story Massage and general wellbeing support.
