Peer Support

Our Peer Support offer consists of two types of group, the Listening Space and Peer to Peer Personal Development Workshops, and 1:1 Peer Connecting.

A place for people with mental health difficulties to come together on common issues and be supported by their peers in a safe and non-judgemental environment.

The Listening Space

The Listening Space is a place for people with mental health difficulties to come together on common issues and be supported by their peers in a safe and non-judgemental environment. They are facilitated by a member of our staff or a trained volunteer who will help to guide each session and ensure the groups remain safe.

Each Listening Space lasts up to 2 hours and is delivered online and in person.

It is open to anyone aged 16 or over living in the Scottish Borders and we accept self-referrals. Our most recent timetable of groups can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.

You can book your place for our online sessions via TicketTailor

Peer to Peer Personal Development

The Peer-to-Peer groups will provide an environment for people with mental health difficulties to come together. It will focus on specific activities each week, invite a variety of guest speakers to deliver activities or information sessions, and will encourage members to consider their personal goals in relation to attending the group.

The activities delivered will be developed based on the suggestions on an ongoing basis from those who attend. Some of the areas which we focus on include, confidence and self-esteem, assertiveness, self-management tools and practical support options and information.

These groups will operate a rolling programme, and activities will be repeated throughout the year.

It is open to anyone aged 16 or over living in the Scottish Borders.

Peer Connecting

Supporting people to make connections with people, activities and groups in their community.

Our peer connecting service, is for anyone aged 16 and over who is feeling isolated and would like to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

The service offers 1:1 support for up to six months (where appropriate this can be extended up to 12 months). People are supported by a trained peer volunteer who offers support to build confidence, meet new people and connect into local groups and activities.
