Drop-in Peer Support Edinburgh

We offer a range of drop-in peer support services for people living in Edinburgh.

They are open to people who want to have a space to be listened to, and to connect with others who understand you.

The Listening Space

The Listening Space is a drop-in service for people in Edinburgh who are 18 years and over. It usually takes place in the main hall of Gilmerton Community Centre. For now, the service has moved online, using the platform Zoom.

We are here to give you a space to be listened to, and to connect with others who will do their best to understand you.

The Listening Space takes place on Wednesdays. Please note that due to staffing changes, the Listening Space is currently operating at limited capacity. However, please still do get in touch to find out when the next meeting is.

What we can offer:

From 1pm – 1:30pm: The space to speak to Health in Mind peer listening volunteers one to one. Volunteers will listen with a compassionate and non-judgemental ear to whatever you want to speak about. We are impartial and respect your confidentiality. We will not provide advice or counselling.

At present, because this is happening online, we ask that you let us know in advance if you’d like a one-to-one listening session.

From 1:30pm – 3pm: An online peer support group to share, listen, and support each other. There will be discussions and activities exploring how we look after our mental health and wellbeing.

For more information and to sign up, contact Anna Chmiel at edinburgh@health-in-mind.org.uk.

For those who have limited or no access to the internet, we can also arrange for you to dial-in from your phone. Call Health in Mind on 0131 225 8508 for more information
