Volunteering Coordinator

Salary:  Pt 27 - £24,478 (pro rata) (fixed)
Hours:  14.5 per week
Location:  Edinburgh, Lothians or Scottish Borders. Some travel/home working
Contract:  This is an open-ended contract.

Volunteering plays an important part in all that we do.  We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to lead the development, planning, co-ordination and implementation of Health in Mind’s Volunteer Strategy and programme, in line with good practice and meeting the requirements of the Investing in Volunteers quality standard

This is a new role requiring the skills and experience to support and train staff to further develop volunteer management skills across all stages of volunteer involvement.  This will include working with others to develop new volunteering roles within Health in Mind with a particular focus on peer volunteers, as well as supporting the establishment of an annual volunteer training programme.

You will be key to maintaining quality within our volunteering activity.  You should have experience of managing the needs and expectations of a wide range of people; delivering volunteer training and support; organising, managing and delivering volunteer programmes within an organisation.

If you have experience in the principles and best practice of volunteering and peer support, allowing others to support people with their mental health and wellbeing, and are passionate about enabling people to fulfil their potential, we’d love to hear from you!
