Peer Support Facilitator

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our growing Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team within the Scottish Borders.

Funded by the Scottish Borders Council this post will work to develop, promote and deliver robust and dynamic mental health Peer Support opportunities within the Scottish Borders.

Salary:   £22, 479 AP3 Pt. 24 (pro-rata)  (fixed)
Hours:  14.5 hours per week
Contract:  Open Ended

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our Borders team as a Peer Support Facilitator to join our Scottish Borders Team. You will work alongside the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager and Team Leader to develop our mental health Peer Support opportunities across the Scottish Borders.

Your focus will be in the development and facilitation of a number of Peer Support groups and workshops across the region and support 2-3 Peer Support Volunteers. Your role will include listening to the voices of the Peers accessing the service and ensuring their views and experiences remain at the heart of groups we offer.

You will maintain positive and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, key partners and relevant professionals. Experience of developing and delivering individual and group support services is desired. If you have experience of supporting people to improve their mental health and wellbeing, or personal experience of self-managing your own mental health, we’d love to hear from you!

All staff are presently working from home, with access to the office available for essential work. Under normal working conditions, travel is required across the Scottish Borders: typically, by public transport or by vehicle where public transport is unavailable or infrequent. Flexibility in working hours will also be expected in order to meet the needs of people we work with.
