Senior Peer Support Facilitator

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our growing Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team within the Scottish Borders.

Funded by the Scottish Borders Council this post will work to develop, promote and deliver a robust and dynamic mental health Peer Support Service within the Scottish Borders.

Salary:   £26,831 per annum (pro-rata)  Pt. 30 (fixed)

Hours:  30 hours per week

Contract:  12 Months (Fixed to 31 December 2021)

As the Senior Peer Support Facilitator, you will work alongside the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager to develop a new mental health peer support service across the Scottish Borders.

You will support and deliver a number of Peer Support Groups and oversee a small team of Peer Support Facilitators and Volunteers.

You will maintain positive and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, key partners and relevant professionals. Substantial experience of successfully designing, developing and delivering individual and group support services is desired.

If you have experience of supporting people to improve their mental health and wellbeing, or personal experience of self-managing your own mental health, we’d love to hear from you!

All staff are presently working from home, with access to the office available for essential work. Under normal working conditions, travel is required: typically, by public transport or by vehicle where public transport is unavailable or infrequent.

Flexibility in working hours will also be expected in order to meet the needs of people we work with.
