‘To me Health in Mind means a lot of different things. It’s my job, I’m a qualified counsellor, it’s a community, it’s a lot of different things. It has helped me a lot to be here, in lots of different ways. To help someone and to be able to use my skills that I am passionate about, that I believe in.

I see things in people that make them sure about their life choices, so they have an assertion. Confidence, empowerment, self-esteem, trust in oneself. I feel when somebody realises you understand, there is a change.

I feel content in myself, and confident, it’s significant, I hope it will be with me forever. I’m really proud of what Health in Mind does. There’s a sense of community through all the services we offer. Health in Mind is an important artery in the infrastructure of Edinburgh, in dealing with people’s needs. I’m proud to be working for Health in Mind, and all the values they uphold, I’m proud to be a part of that.’
