BLOG: POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS (FEBRUARY 2020)

How much time does your inner dialogue take up with self-doubt or negative self-talk? 

Imagine you had a counter-narrative voice saying positive, uplifting, inspiring talk instead? 

Why not try some positive affirmations?

Put simply, positive affirmations are positive phrases or statements used to challenge negative or unhelpful thoughts. And yes, there is genuine theory and a fair amount of neuroscience behind this practice.  Say these statements to yourself, out loud, in the mirror, or write them on post-its and put them around your house.

Inspired by a session on positive affirmations in our Anxiety Management Course in South Queensferry, one participant produced this amazing piece of art with all her personal affirmations!

Why not give yourself a break from the bad cop in your head, and add in a reassuring good cop?
