This one day course runs from 9.30am until 4.30pm.
Please see Eventbrite for dates.
Who should come on the course:
In terms of promoting an organisation, there are two traditional approaches. The first is paid-for (and sometimes expensive) advertising and the second is to develop media coverage in local and national press, specialist publications and broadcast media; this takes time and effort but is free.
The course is ideal for managers, senior managers and anyone looking to promote their organisation in the media.
To understand what makes a news story, how to write it, where to get it published, giving an interview and crisis management.
You will finish the course being able to:
- Identify a good news story.
- Learn what you need to do to interest the media
- Know what to expect if you are asked to give an interview
- Take steps if your organisation is under siege from the media for all the wrong reasons
The course will also explore the links between the media and social media.
