Target Audience

Health and Social Care staff and students.

Aim

To ensure that participants are familiar with the latest theory and practice that underpins values-based approaches to recovery.

By the end of the training participants will have had the opportunity to reflect on each of the Ten Essential Shared Capabilities:

  1. Working in partnership
  2. Respecting diversity
  3. Practicing ethically
  4. Challenging inequality
  5. Promoting recovery
  6. Identifying peoples needs and strengths
  7. Providing user centred care
  8. Making a difference
  9. Promoting safety and positive risk taking
  10. Personal; development and learning

By the end of the training, participants will have a degree of familiarity with the following modules published by the Scottish Recovery Network:

  • Using self to develop recovery focused relationships
  • Enabling self direction
  • Providing person-centred support
  • Sharing responsibility for risk and risk taking
  • Connecting with communities

Stuart Campbell was part of the Health in Mind/ Penumbra team who devised the initial training programme that was rolled out across Scotland.
