Target Audience
Any member of staff in a supervisory role. Prior Requirement: Attendance at Reflective Supervision training, current case load of supervision and good working knowledge of organsational policies and procedures relating to staff and volunteer management.
Aim
To offer line managers in a supervisory role of staff and/or volunteers an opportunity to explore supervision as a reflective space within the organisational and wider health and social care setting.
Draft Outline of Training Day
- Reflective Supervision - overview and organisational context
- Being a Supervisor - The basics and the less tangible
- Calling a Halt - How to challenge appropriately
- The Creative Supervisor - Putting knowledge into practice
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the training patricipants will
- Have an understanding of the role of supervision in an organisational context
- Have explored and clarified what needs to be in place for good supervision to happen including the basics as well as the less tangible of being a supervisor
- Be able to distinguish different types of supervision, including the functions of line management, clinical supervision and informal supervision
- Have had an opportunity to reflect on and work with challenging supervisees in their practice to enable them to grow and develop
- Reviewed their role as a supervisor and formulated ideas of how to put this into practice
