Support from Home

The service responds to the service users’ care and support needs, using person-centred values.  Support can be offered at your home or in an agreed community setting.  The service also aims to support service users to regain, maintain and develop the practical and emotional skills necessary for achieving a positive quality of life.

Support is offered to help re-establish the organisation of household tasks, to enable them to manage budgeting, shopping and to deal with correspondence.  Support Workers encourage individuals to develop coping skills and help build confidence.  They will be supported and introduced to social, recreational and educational opportunities.  Support will be offered to assist them to achieve goals in both the home and community.

Referrals

The service receives referrals from statutory and voluntary agencies as well as self-referrals. The referral form is available here.

The service is regularly inspected by the Care Inspectorate and has received Grade 6 (the highest grade possible) for the last two years.  This year’s Grade 6 focussed on:

  • Quality of Care and Support - Grade 6 - Excellent
  • Quality of Staffing - Grade 6 – Excellent
  • Quality of Management and Leadership - Grade 6 – Excellent

"My life was terrible and going nowhere until I came into contact with Support from Home and The Orchard Centre ... still issues but better able to cope and know that I can get support when I ask ... staff can't do enough to help you."
