Access to mental health and wellbeing information and resources

Information Services provide a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere in which to access information on mental health and wellbeing whether online, over the phone or in person at our Information Resource Centre. View our Information Services leaflet.

Information Resource Centre

Along with a comprehensive library of books on mental health and wellbeing, our Information Resource Centre also provides:

  • Free internet for accessing mental health resources
  • Information on local services
  • Self-help books and CDs
  • Regular information afternoons

Our Information Development Worker, or our volunteer Information Assistants, are on hand to support you to find the information you require Monday – Friday 10am–12.30pm and 1.15pm–4pm.

Please be aware there is no lift access to our Information Resource Centre which is situated on the first floor of our offices in Shandwick Place.

Information Afternoons

Each month we provide a free information session on a relevant topic, such as:

  • Panic Attacks
  • Borderline Personality Disorder
  • Mood and Food

Each session lasts for approx 2 hours at our offices in Shandwick Place. For more information about upcoming sessions please click here.

Online information

The information within the Information Resource Centre is also available on-line at for Edinburgh services, for Midlothian services, for East Lothian services and for West Lothian services.  These websites can help you to:

  • Find appropriate local mental health services
  • Make informed choices about treatment and care
  • Find ways to maintain mental health and wellbeing
  • Explore self-help opportunities
