Abseil from the Forth Rail Bridge with Health in Mind!

Edinburgh charity Health in Mind is seeking volunteers to abseil from the Forth Rail Bridge to raise money to promote positive mental health

Mental health is something that touches many lives in different ways - from stress, depression and anxiety through to isolation and loneliness, and the charity is looking for support so they can help more people in the Lothians.

Amy, a volunteer who took part in the abseil in 2015, said: “I loved fundraising for Health in Mind last year.

“I'm not going to lie, I found the abseil pretty scary, but I'm so glad to have done it.

“It was an amazing atmosphere on the day and it felt great to have raised so much”

The Forth Rail Bridge lies just north of Edinburgh, and is an iconic structure linking the capital with Fife to the north. Constructed in the late nineteenth century, the Bridge was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2015. Volunteers will abseil one hundred and sixty five feet from the Bridge to the beach below.

Health in Mind has twenty places available for the abseil on June 12. No previous experience is required and a team of highly skilled instructors will be on hand to ensure your safety. Anyone interested in participating should email to receive an application pack - fundraising@health-in-mind.org.uk.

Health in Mind helps people to live the life they want to live and services include trauma counselling; guided self-help; an information resource centre; befriending services for people and a suicide prevention project for young men.
