As a charity we are of course always very grateful for any donations. All Health in Mind services aim to support people who experience mental health issues and their carers to achieve a positive quality of life.
If you would like to help us to continue our support, please donate to Health in Mind - and if you are a UK taxpayer please remember to add gift aid!
Edinburgh Marathon
Elaine Scott is an Edinburgh GP, who understands how important it is that patients with mental health problems receive the help they need. Elaine ran the Edinburgh Marathon on 22nd May, and is very generously donating funds raised to Health in Mind.
In her own words, 'Thank you to all my fantastic supporters and incredibly generous sponsors, who donated to Health in Mind on the back of my Edinburgh Marathon run on 22nd May 2011.
'My training paid off and I completed the race in a personal best time of 4 hours 31 minutes and 52 seconds. In doing so I have already raised £719 on my justgiving website, and another approximately £100 from off-line donations. I hope to raise yet more from a swap party arranged by a friend, which will take place in a couple of weeks time.
'The race was very good natured, with many runners encouraging others on the way. I was overtaken at various points by a man juggling 3 balls whilst running (I did not see him drop any!), Dorothy's Tin Man (who looked as though he needed a good basting in his tin foil as the sun came out) and several gentlemen in dresses! It is difficult enough to run in sports gear, it must be so much harder in costume, so a huge well done to them.
'I was very pleased to raise money for Health in Mind. It a such a worthy cause. It added a dimension to the race, which would not have been the case had I simply been running 'for myself'.
'Will I do it again? Definitely!'
A huge thank you and congratulations to Elaine!
